Centre shuts out Hendrix for second win in a row

DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre men's soccer closed Homecoming weekend with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Hendrix Sunday afternoon at Andrew P. Amend Field.

The Colonels recorded their first shutout since Sept. 5, improving to 7-5-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the Southern Athletic Association while dropping the Warriors to 3-7-2 overall and 2-3-1 in-conference.

Centre is now 26-1-1 all-time against Hendrix, including 11 consecutive winning decisions.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Michael Vogt and Nafiz Budeiri each recorded shots that were saved by the Hendrix keeper throughout an evenly-matched opening half.
- Nathan Wilcox broke the scoreless draw late in the period, taking a pass from Luke Morgan and firing a shot from the right side of the penalty area past the keeper. It marked his fifth goal of the season and second in the past two matches.
- The second half played out much like the first, proving to be a relatively balanced affair as each side totaled five shots.
- Haydon Korfhage came up with a leaping save in the 85th minute to preserve the lead.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
