DANVILLE, Ky. – One hundred years and one day after C6H0, the Centre football team put on a performance that would have made the Boys who Beat Harvard proud as they celebrated the C6H0 centennial and the 2022 senior class with a 49-6 victory over the Rhodes Lynx on Senior Day at Farris Stadium.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- It didn't take long for the Colonels to strike.
Trentin Dupper raced for 32 yards on the first play from scrimmage, and on the ensuing snap, he fired a strike to senior
Sam Murray for a 28-yard score.
- Dupper hit on all four of his passes on a nine-play, 88-yard drive that was capped off with a dart to senior
Cort Marbaugh to put the Colonels up 14-0.
- Rhodes followed with a long drive and looked to get on the board, but Centre's
Scotty Brown blocked a field goal attempt and
Nick German took the recovered ball into Lynx territory.
- From there,
Will McDaniel rushed for 28 yards on two carries to get Centre into the red zone before Dupper fired his third touchdown pass of the quarter on an eight-yard toss to
Christian Billiter to make it 21-0.
- In the second quarter, Dupper stayed hot, firing passes of 13, 16, 20 and 20 yards to get Centre deep into Rhodes territory again, at which point
Jordan Gunter ran it in to put Centre up by four scores, where it stayed as the two teams went into the locker room for halftime.
- The Lynx were the first team to get on the board in the second half, but the Colonels blocked their second kick of the game on the point after try.
- On Centre's ensuing drive, the Colonels took it 64 yards on seven plays, with the big play a 38-yard connection from Dupper to
Patric Edwards on 1st & 20. On third down just outside the red zone, Dupper hit Gunter for a touchdown for the record books and Centre was back up by a score of 35-6.
- Following another stop by the defense, the Colonels went on another long drive as the fourth quarter began. Edwards punched it in from the goal line to cap off the march.

Nick Grant intercepted a pass on the next Rhodes drive to finish off the day for the Centre starters on defense.
- In the fourth quarter, a botched snap on a punt gave the Colonels the ball on the Rhodes 10, and
Nick Osterman connected with Brown for the final touchdown of the afternoon.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Dupper had the finest passing day of his career, connecting on 24 of 29 attempts for a career high 340 yards and four touchdowns. He and Edwards also tied for the team lead with 51 rushing yards each.
- Gunter's touchdown catch in the third period gave him 25 for his career, making him the all-time career leader in touchdown receptions at Centre, breaking Cody Estep's record.
- The Colonels outgained the Lynx 489-259 and the defense held Rhodes to just 156 net passing yards on 17 of 40 attempts, with Grant and
Justin Gainey each recording interceptions.
- The Centre receiving corps shared the wealth as five different players caught touchdown passes. Marbaugh finished with a team high 96 yards on six catches.

Quinton Moss led the Centre defense with eight tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
