DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre women's soccer remained unbeaten in the Southern Athletic Association as they honored their 11 seniors with a 2-0 victory over Millsaps at a windy Amend Field.
Prior to the match, the Colonels held a ceremony celebrating the careers of
Sarah Stodghill,
Sarah Sirkin,
Madeleine Espy,
Rachael Boule,
Gracie Fitzgerald,
Kristin Dean,
Abby Hegarty, Clarity Voy,
Averi Faulk and
Audrey Nienaber.
HIGHLIGHTS
- After Millsaps stopped a couple of scoring attempts for the Colonels, Centre broke through in the 25th minute as
Megan Sidaway headed home a setup by
Sarah Sirkin and
Gracie Fitzgerald, putting the home team up 1-0.
- Millsaps packed it in defensively throughout the second half, resulting in a massive possession advantage for the Colonels.
- Centre would take 21 shots throughout the period. In the 49th minute,
Mills Mullen overpowered the Majors' keeper for her third goal of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Colonels out-shot the Majors 26-1 and held advantages of 9-0 in shots on goal and 15-0 in corner kicks.
- Since losing to Division I Western Kentucky on Mar. 6, the Colonels have outscored their opponents 15-2 during their current four-match win streak.
