Colonels claim regular season SAA title in 5-0 win at Hendrix

CONWAY, Ark. – Centre women's soccer claimed the Southern Athletic Association regular season title Friday evening in a 5-0 win at Hendrix.
 
The Colonels improve to 5-1-1 overall and 5-0 in the SAA, securing the league's top seed for the sixth straight season along with the right to host the upcoming conference tournament, which takes place April 16-18. The host Warriors fall to 3-4 overall and 2-4 in-conference.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre peppered the Hendrix keeper with a handful of shots early, and eventually Mills Mullen put the Colonels on the board with a goal from 18 yards out. It marked her fourth goal of the spring season.
- Later in the half, Bri Tilley hit the back of the net for the third time this year, putting Centre ahead, 2-0.
- Megan Sidaway scored the first of her two goals barely two minutes into the second half, and completed the brace less than 10 minutes later on an assist from Mullen.
- Taylor Gebhart capped the scoring in the 72nd minute for her first goal of the season.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Centre finished with 26 shots to Hendrix's 10, including an 11-5 edge in shots on goal. Sidaway led all players with six attempts.
- Sarah Stodghill recorded five saves in goal for the Colonels.
- The Colonels improve to 28-0-2 all-time against the Warriors.
