Men's soccer snaps skid with 6-0 rout of Millsaps

DANVILLE, Ky. – After three straight one-goal losses, scores came by the bunches for the Centre men's soccer team, who snapped their losing streak with a dominant 6-0 win over Millsaps, notching their first official win of the season.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre opened the scoring within the first 10 minutes, as Ryan Roussel snaked past the Millsaps defense and found Nathan Wilcox in front of the goal.
- Haydon Korfhage stopped the lone Millsaps scoring attempt of the first half and the Colonels followed with a barrage of goals in the final 20 minutes of the half.
- Max Gordinier found the back of the net for the first time in his career at the 26-minute mark to put the Colonels up by two goals.
- After assisting on the first goal of the contest, Roussel caught fire with two goals in a span of less than two minutes, giving Centre a 4-0 lead.
- The Colonels still weren't done in the first half as Sota Ippongi set up Jack Rodes for his first career goal and Centre went into the locker room at halftime with a five-goal lead.
- The final goal of the contest came in the final five minutes as Will Newton found Wilcox for his second goal of the afternoon to cap off a satisfying victory for the Colonels.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Colonels outshot the Majors 30-3 for the day, including a 14-2 edge in shots on goal. Korfhage and Jacob Camacho each saved the one Millsaps scoring attempt they faced.
- Ippongi had a career day as the freshman assisted on three Centre goals, including the first career scores for Gordinier and Rodes.

After a week off, Centre men's soccer will be back on Apr. 9 with a late game at Hendrix.
