CONWAY, Ark. – Back on the court for the first time in two weeks, Centre women's basketball faltered in a 70-60 defeat at Hendrix Friday evening.
The Colonels fell to 3-6 overall while the host Warriors earned their first win of the campaign and moved to 1-10.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Trailing 8-2, the Colonels put together a first quarter rally to grab a 25-16 lead by the end of the period.

Natalie Duggins and
Rachel Jennings provided sparks off the bench for Centre, combining to score 12 of the 25 points.
- Hendrix bounced back in the second, outscoring Centre 23-7 to regain the lead and take a 39-32 advantage into the break.
- The Warriors pushed their lead to 44-34 in the third quarter, but
Payton Herold led a quick 10-2 surge to pull the Colonels within a bucket.
- Although they stayed within striking distance, the Colonels never overcame their deficit as the Warriors pulled away late for the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Herold finished with 15 points on 7 of 11 shooting.
Presley Chirico followed with 11 and
Abigail Wehby had 10.
- Centre had a 25-8 edge in bench points, but Hendrix had a pair of starters score 20-plus.
- The Colonels were out-rebounded 39-29. Wehby led the team with six boards.
