BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Centre men's soccer defeated Birmingham-Southern by a 4-1 margin Friday evening, upsetting the top seed and host of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament in the semifinals.
The Colonels (4-3) are in the SAA Tournament finale for the fifth consecutive season – having won three of the last four – while avenging a 1-0 loss to the Panthers (9-4) from earlier this spring.

Sota Ippongi scored in the 24th minute to break the scoreless match, and the Colonels carried that 1-0 lead into the half.
