Sirkin, Mullen shine as Colonels advance to SAA Tournament finale

DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre women's soccer punched its ticket to yet another Southern Athletic Association Tournament Championship, defeating Rhodes, 5-0, in Friday's semifinal at Andrew P. Amend Field.

Sarah Sirkin and Mills Mullen each finished with five points, leading the Colonels (7-1-1) past Rhodes (3-3-1) for the second time in six days.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Barely two minutes elapsed before the Colonels got onto the board. Mullen fired a left-footed shot from right inside the 18-yard box for her sixth goal of the season, as Abby Hegarty provided the assist.
- Taylor Gebhart took advantage of a loose ball in front of the cage in the 36th minute, slotting home her first goal of the spring to give the Colonels a 2-0 halftime lead.
- Mullen and Sirkin put on a show in the second half, putting away the contest with a string of impressive goals. Sirkin's first came on a Mullen assist from the left wing under one minute into the period.
- She then returned the favor in the 61st minute, crossing in a ball in from the right side that Mullen headed into the back of the net.
- Sirkin capped the scoring with a left-footed rocket from just inside the box to make it 5-0.
