Centre delivers 3-2 comeback win at Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio – Centre field hockey faced its first deficit of the season Sunday, but managed to rally from behind for a 3-2 win against Denison at Deeds Fields-Piper Stadium.

The 17th-ranked Colonels finish the weekend 4-0 overall, dropping the Big Red to 1-3.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre's efficiency on penalty corners was evident early in the opening quarter, as Megan Coomes inserted to Maran Lee who scored her team-leading third goal of the season in just the fourth minute.
- Denison scored twice in a 50-second span later in the quarter, however, taking a 2-1 lead.
- The Colonels stepped up their attacking effort in the second quarter, out-shooting the Big Red 7-1 and eventually tying the game on an Olivia Broyles goal. It was her second score of the weekend and came off an assist from Ellie Dunham.
- Just a minute into the third quarter, Coomes gathered a loose ball and scored to regain a 3-2 advantage for the Colonels.
- Centre's defense allowed only two shots the rest of the contest. Sienna Joseph came up with a save in the closing minutes to preserve the lead.
