GRANVILLE, Ohio – The 16th-ranked Centre women's soccer squad brought home a 3-1 victory at 17th-ranked Denison Saturday at Barclay-Thomsen Field.
The Colonels improve to 6-1-1 overall with their third straight victory, dropping the Big Red to 4-2.

Elizabeth Nelson continued her recent tear, opening the scoring in the ninth minute after gathering a pass from
Megan Sidaway and volleying the ball past the keeper. The Macon, Ga., native has four goals this season and at least one point in five straight matches.
- Shots were relatively even throughout the first period, but Centre held on to the 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
- In the 51st minute,
Lindsay Carr scored her first collegiate goal to double Centre's lead. She received a pass from
Bri Tilley, took a useful touch with the right foot and finished with the left.
- Denison made it interesting with a goal in the 79th minute.
- Less than a minute later, however, Centre earned a penalty kick after Denison committed a foul in the box. Trilley stepped up and beat the keeper low to the left of the cage to regain a two-goal advantage for the Colonels.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Centre had an 18-11 advantage in total shots, including a 13-6 edge in shots on goal. The Big Red finished with five corner kicks to the Colonels' one.
