ATLANTA – The 15th-ranked Centre women's soccer team began their Southern Athletic Association schedule in style Saturday, thoroughly defeating Oglethorpe, 9-0.
Nine different individuals scored for the Colonels, who improved to 7-1-1 overall while starting 1-0 in league play. The host Stormy Petrels, who have now dropped 22 straight to Centre, fall to 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the SAA.
HIGHLIGHTS

Mills Mullen opened the scoring parade in the ninth minute off an assist from
Bri Tilley, marking her first goal of the campaign.
- In the 24th minute,
Megan Sidaway found the back of the net after receiving an assist from
Bella Nelson. It was Sidaway's fourth goal of the year and second in the last three matches.
- Sidaway then assisted
Taylor Gebhart for a score in the 28th minute, good for the senior's third of the season.
- Barely two minutes later, rookie
Lydia Bowling scored the first goal of her collegiate debut, getting a helper from
Brooke Smithson.

Lizzie Klehr netted her second goal of the season in the 33rd minute, and
Maggie Corbett followed in the 35th with an unassisted score of her own to make it 6-0 at the half. It was Corbett's first goal of the season.

Alex Barnhill found the back of the net just 80 seconds into the second half, as Klehr and
Lindsay Carr were credited with assists.

Bella Nelson scored Centre's eighth goal in the 52nd minute off an assist from Bowling, marking her first collegiate score.
- Carr capped the scoring one minute later, scoring her second goal of the year while getting an assist from Klehr.

- Centre's defense allowed only one shot for the second time this season.
