DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre field hockey remains unbeaten after a 2-0 victory over Earlham Sunday at South Campus Field.
The 17th-ranked Colonels move to 6-0 overall while Earlham suffers its first loss of the season, falling to 6-1.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre controlled possession throughout scoreless first and second quarters, totaling 15 shots while keeping Earlham from attempting any.

Kate Pilcher nearly put the Colonels on the board in the second quarter with a well-aimed redirection, but Earlham's Meg Murphy came up one of her four first-half saves to keep it 0-0.

Megan Coomes broke the draw early in the third quarter with a goal off an assist from
Meredith Wickenheiser.
- Coomes added an unassisted goal just minutes later to double Centre's lead.
- Earlham had more attacking opportunities throughout the remainder of the game, but the Colonel defense held on to secure the team's fourth shutout.

- Centre had 19 shots to Earlham's five. Coomes and Wickenheiser led Centre with five shots each.
