DANVILLE, Ky. - After dropping a match to nationally ranked Berry yesterday, the Centre volleyball team rebounded on Sunday afternoon with a straight sets victory against the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels in Alumni Gym.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre grabbed the early lead in the opening set and kept it throughout, leading by as many as eight points.
Alice Rodgerson put home the final kill on a 25-20 victory to get the Colonels off to a good start.
- In the second set, the Petrels were much tougher, never allowing Centre to create much distance, although the Colonels did lead for a majority of the frame. Leading 23-21,
Katie Hall converted two kills in a row to secure a 25-21 win.
- The Colonels used a late run of four straight points to break open what had been a tightly contested third set. Like she did in the previous set,
Katie Hall scored the final kill to wrap up the sweep and earn Centre its tenth win of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Hall finished with a game high 15 kills, with
Eleanor Davis and
Brooke Palmer each adding ten.
- Centre's middle hitters had an outstanding game as Hall hit .583 for the match while Davis hit .474.

Meredith Phillips led all players with 38 assists, ten more than Oglethorpe had as a team.

Madi Barron led the Centre defense with ten digs.
