Women's soccer blanks North Central, 2-0

DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre women's soccer team hosted the North Central Cardinals in tournament action at Amend Field, as they cruised to a comfortable 2-0 shutout.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

- Centre dominated possession in the early minutes and applied pressure on the NCC defense for the entire half. 29 minutes in, Megan Sidaway scored off an assist by Bella Nelson to put the Colonels on the board.
- The Colonels held the Cardinals without a shot for the entire half and kept their 1-0 lead going into halftime.
- A little over halfway into the second half, the Cardinals got their best chance at tying the game, but Jonelle Barron stopped Olivia Hurt's equalizer attempt.
- Five minutes later, Ellie Faber found Cameron Zak for a goal that effectively sealed the victory for the Colonels. North Central managed two more shots, but neither found their way to the Centre goal.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

- Centre held an 18-4 advantage in shots against NCC, including a 9-1 edge in shots on goal. Sidaway finished with seven shots to lead all players.
- The Colonels also held a 12-2 in corner kicks over the Cardinals.
