DANVILLE, Ky. – The highly anticipated match between Centre and Emory ended in a 0-0 draw Sunday afternoon at Andrew P. Amend Field.
 
The Colonels (2-0-1) entered the season ranked No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, while the Eagles (2-0-1) were receiving votes.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
- The two sides battled to a stalemate in the first half, although Emory came away with more scoring opportunities. Jonelle Barron recorded a pair of saves – including a diving effort in the 14th minute that stopped a sure goal from Lindsey Breskow.
- Both teams put one shot on goal in the second half. Centre's came from Elizabeth Nelson in the 56th minute.
- The Colonels got some timely defensive efforts in the extra sessions, including clearances from both Brooke Smithson and Gabrielle Gilkison with the ball in front of goal.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Emory out-shot Centre 16-6 but held just a 3-1 edge in shots on target.
- Barron finished with three saves in goal.
