BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Centre volleyball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of no. 23 Birmingham-Southern, who knock off the Colonels in three sets.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Midway through the opening set, the Panthers used an 8-1 run to break open a close game and take a 20-11 lead. Centre could get no closer than six points the rest of the way as BSC scored the last five points to take a 25-15 win.
- The second set played out in a similar fashion to the first as a Panthers rally near the midway point of the set gave them the lead for good. This time it was a 6-1 run that put BSC up 19-12 as the Panthers won the set by a score of 25-17.
- The Colonels rallied from an early deficit in the third set to take their latest lead at 15-14. With the score tied at 16-16, the Panthers scored seven of the next eight points and eventually pulled away to a 25-18 victory.
