DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre field hockey competed against Southern Athletic Association (SAA) opponent Transylvania on Wednesday evening. In what proved to be a close match-up, an early goal from the Colonels secured a 1 goal victory over the Pioneers.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels placed the singular goal of the game early in the first period. Senior
Ellie Dunham landed the ball in the back of the cage off an assist from
Peyton Gahm.
- Centre controlled the ball much of the first period but Transylvania would soon find their rhythm on offense, placing several balls inside their scoring circle in the second quarter.
- For the remainder of the competition, both Centre's and Transylvania's defense would stall the score at 1 – 0.
- The Pioneers had their first shot-on-goal in the final period, but freshman
Kate Helton would deny that shot, finalizing the score in favor of the Colonels (1 – 0).
