Kenyon stuns the Colonels in overtime loss

DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre field hockey completed their regular season play on Saturday, hosting the Owls of Kenyon College. In a single overtime period, Kenyon edged out the Colonels, setting the final score to 3 - 2 in favor of the Owls.  
 
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Megan Speth commenced the scoring for the Colonels. The junior beamed one in during a penalty corner execution, handing Centre the lead entering the second quarter. 
-  Early in the second, Kenyon placed the equalizer, bringing the score to an even 1 – 1.
- For the remainder of the second, and the entirety of the third, both teams halted scoring, stalling the score at Centre one, Kenyon one entering the fourth.
- Taking advantage of a corner opportunity, first-year Emily Ritchie placed a beautiful goal with two and a half minutes left in regulation play. 
- Kenyon answered Ritchie just 30 seconds later, leveling the score yet again. 
- The Owls would put together the concluding goal from an awarded penalty corner. The resulting, and final score would be Kenyon three, Centre two. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Owls trailed the Colonels in shooting. Kenyon placed four of their six attempted while Centre made three of their 16. 
- Centre edged Kenyon in penalty corners. The Gold & White gathered 13, the Owls, five. 
Carlie McKenry and Kate Helton shared minutes in cage. Together, the two Colonels mustered up one save. Kenyon had five. 
Emily Ritchie and Megan Speth would share the leading scorer position, each obtaining one goal.
Peyton Gahm led the offense in shooting, trying two.

Centre will return to competition, hosting the SAA Conference Tournament Semi-final on Saturday, November 8th.
