NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Centre field hockey fell to Christopher Newport (CNU) on Saturday. The Captains outscored the Colonels, leaving the final score at 4 – 0.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Christopher Newport commenced the scoring efforts for the competition, attempting 12 shots in the first half. After placing their first goal late in the second period, the Captains rattled off two additional goals minutes later.
- Centre's
Carlie McKenry accumulated two stops for the Gold & White in the first quarter, keeping the Captains scoreless entering the second period.
- Sophomore
Peyton Gahm kick started the shooting for the Colonels. She set out to get on the board late in the second half.
- Coming late in the third period, CNU marked the game's final goal, freezing the final at 4 – 0 in favor of Christopher Newport.
