DANVILLE, Ky. – The Colonel's cracked the Scot's defense after a misplaced opening quarter, defeating Maryville by a score of 75-49 in the final game before the Thanksgiving Break.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels trailed away from the Scots early, placing nine points to kick off the game's scoring.
Natalie Duggins put together three points in the first possession, sinking her and-one following a lay-up. Subsequently,
Piper Hensley hit two consecutive long balls to give Centre a nine-point advantage just two minutes in.
- The momentum swung in Maryville's direction as they went on a run of their own. A series of lay-ups paired with a trio of threes gave the Scots an eight-point edge.
- Maryville would continue their run into the opening minutes of the second period, forcing the Colonel's to call a time-out. Centre quickly refocused, finding notable offensive runs in
Payton Herold,
Bailey Rucker, and
Anna Thomas. After seven unanswered baskets, Centre was back in the lead approaching the third period.
- Coming out of half, the Scots would alter their defensive strategy, shifting from a zone to a man-to-man. The Colonels would prey upon the breakdown of Maryville's man-to-man defense, stringing together ten unanswered points.
- Centre's best performance came in the game's final quarter. The Colonel's defense would hold the Scots to just 13 points after forcing seven turnovers in the final period. The Colonel's offense doubled Maryville's, sinking 26 points of their own.
Abigail Taylor closed Centre's scoring, bucketing her first career basket, a jumper in the paint, moments before draining a three, setting the final score at 75 – 49 in favor of the Gold & White.

- The Colonels held Maryville to just 36 percent shooting in the paint, including just four makes from behind the arc.
- Centre capitalized on the Scot's defensive mistakes, turning Maryville's 18 turnovers into 26 positive points.
- The Colonels managed an 88 percent from the charity line, placing 15 of their 18 free-throws.
- Centre led Maryville in fast breaks, completing ten to the Scot's four.
- Rucker fronted the Colonels in points, managing 16 and adding five rebounds. Herold was also in the double digits, placing 11 points and obtaining a perfect 4-4 at the line.
