DANVILLE, Ky. – After a week long preparation for tonight's match-up, the Colonels edged out the Panthers in the final minutes. After Monday night's win, the Centre women's basketball team adds to a win streak.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- In the opening minute, the Colonels scored five quick points that assisted a 12 - 2 lead by the first timeout of the game. After the short break, the Panthers added pressure with a full-court press that proved to be unsuccessful as Centre continued to pull away.
Anna Thomas nailed the team's fourth three-pointer of the quarter, increasing the first period score to 18-9 in favor of the Colonels.
- Greenville opened the second period with a 7-0 run, bringing the Panthers within two-points of the Colonels. Centre would answer with a late 7-0 run of their own, finalizing the first half's score at 31-25 in favor of the home team.

Payton Herold caught the attention of the crowd and advanced the Colonels to their biggest lead yet. Greenville would slowly chip away at Centre's hold, going on an 8-2 run. With three minutes left in the third quarter, the score was even at 45.
- Entering the final period, the Panthers took their first lead of the game but would quickly find themselves in foul trouble. Capitalizing, Centre went 10-12 at the penalty line, regaining the momentum. Both teams would trade points for the remainder of the contest, but the Colonels would just edge out the Panthers. Greenville would give a final effort with a buzzer beater long ball, but it wouldn't be enough for a comeback. The final score sat at Centre 68, Greenville 67.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Makya Grinter was the team's point leader. The rookie put up 14-points, including a prefect 100 percent from long range and going 4-5 at the line.

Payton Herold led the team in three's (3) and was just behind Grinter with 13 total points.

Emma Rose Vincent was the final Colonel in the double digits. The junior bucketed ten points including four crucial points and two assists in the game's final minutes.

Natalie Duggins nearly doubled everyone in rebounds, taking 11. The next highest rebounder was fellow Colonel
Bailey Rucker with six.
- Centre shot 54 percent from long range while holding the Panthers to just 30 percent.
- Centre's defense had one of their best performances this season with 11 steals and 17 caused turnovers. Of those 17 CT, the Colonels turned 20 positive points.
