DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre women's basketball team added to their now four game win streak on Friday evening. Overwhelming the Mount St. Joseph Lions by a score of 66-58, the Colonels move to 7-3 on the season.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Opening the contest, a three-pointer from
Piper Hensley paired with a made layup from
Emma Rose Vincent handed the Colonels an early lead. Hensley nailed yet another long ball minutes later assisting to the Colonel's three-point edge entering the second quarter.
- After trading baskets in the first four minutes of the second period, Mount Saint Joseph evened the score, connecting a three with a penalty shot. The Lions continued their run, bucketing nine unanswered points and taking their first lead of the game. In the final play of the first half,
Makya Grinter turned a steal to a fast-break that put the Colonels within one-point of Mount St. Joseph entering the halftime break.
- Opening the third quarter, sophomore
Bailey Rucker struck hot, netting three baskets to put the Colonels back on top. Several minutes later, Centre went on an 8-0 score run to make the score at 47-42 entering the final period.
- The Lions quickly found their way back into the lead after sinking a pair of threes moments into the final quarter. The Colonel's offense rallied for an 8-0 run as Grinter sank a jumper just before
Anna Thomas connected two consecutive baskets from behind the arc.
- In the final moments, the Lions tightened their full-court press, but the Colonels kept their composure with one last 4-1 push to seal the score at Centre 66, Mount St. Joseph 58.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

Natalie Duggins matched her season high in two statistical categories: rebounds and steals. Just missing a double-double, the sophomore amassed four steals, 13 off the board, and claimed eight points.

Makya Grinter and
Bailey Rucker achieved double figures on the offensive end. Rucker had a team high of 15 points and went 3-4 at the line. Grinter put up 11 points, adding three assists.
- Off the glass, Centre had a 42-22 edge over the Lions.
- The Colonels preformed a 40 percent from long range compared to Mount St. Joseph's 33 percent.
- Centre was tenacious under the basket, turning their 44 rebounds into 20 second chance points.

The Colonels will break for the holidays before returning at action on December 28th. They will travel down the road next Wednesday to face Berea at 5 p.m. ET.
