The Colonels fall to Berea after mid-game drought

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Centre women's basketball returned to play Thursday after a nearly two-week break. Resulting from a mid-game drought, the Colonels fell to Berea College by a score of 77-57.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

- In the initial quarter of play, both teams traded baskets for a majority of the ten minutes. Nearing the end of the opening quarter, Emma Rose Vincent bucketed a turnaround jumper to give the Colonels a single point edge entering the second quarter.
- Entering the next period trailing by one point, Berea's defense held the Colonels to just four points while their offensive would put up 16 points.
- Coming out of halftime with an 11-point lead, Berea would continue with their offensive run. Concluding the third quarter, the Mountaineers went on an 11-0 score run, bringing the score to Berea 61, Centre 37.
- The Colonel's last quarter would prove to be their best performance yet. In the final quarter, Centre resurged as they outscored their opponents 20-16, more than doubled in rebounds, and took two steals. The Colonel's last period efforts would not be enough for a comeback and the final score was set at Berea 77, Centre 57.
