MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After losing a late lead on Saturday, Centre men's basketball bounced back on Sunday afternoon, returning to the win column with an 84-78 victory over the Huntingdon Hawks on day 2 of the Rhodes Classic.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Both teams shot the ball well in the opening minutes.
Noah Ring, making his return to the starting lineup, knocked down a quick three while
Drew Wilson came off the bench to can a pair of triples in what turned out to be good omens for both players.
- The Hawks made their first push late in the first half as they hit consecutive threes to take their largest lead of the game at 32-26.
- Following a timeout, Wilson caught fire, scoring 13 consecutive Centre points to end the half as the Colonels turned a six-point deficit into a 39-34 halftime lead.

Cade Stinnett extended Centre's lead early in the second half with a three-point play. Huntingdon rallied to cut the lead to 52-50 at the 12-minute mark, but Centre utilized a 7-0 run to stem the tide.
- The Colonels went up by double digits for the first time at 65-54 following the sixth and final three from Wilson followed by another three from
Hunter Coleman. The Hawks put on a press and twice narrowed the gap to three points, but Centre sealed the deal at the free throw line.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Wilson had by far the best offensive performance of his collegiate career, scoring 24 points on 60 percent shooting, including 6-11 from distance.
- Ring also delivered a season high, scoring 20 points, also hitting on 60 percent shooting while pulling down a team high eight rebounds.

Carter Baughman finished with 17 points, while Stinnett added 12. The two combined to make all 13 of their free throw attempts, with ten coming in the final two minutes to help secure the win.
- The Colonels outscored the Hawks by 11 from the line in the win, including hitting 19 of 21 free throws in the second half.
- Centre also finished with just five turnovers while forcing Huntingdon into 19.

After Christmas, the Colonels will return to action on Dec. 29 as they travel to North Carolina to take on Greensboro in tournament actin.
