GREENSBORO, N.C. – Centre men's basketball wrapped up 2022 with the final game of the Guilford Classic as they faced the host Guilford Quakers. The Colonels concluded their non-conference schedule with a 76-39 loss.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Both teams struggled to score in the opening minutes. Freshman
Colby Raymer came off the bench and canned a three to make it 6-5 Guilford at the halfway point of the half, entering the scoring column for the first time in his career.
- Guilford used an 11-2 run late in the half to extend their lead to 32-15 before
Carter Baughman capped off the scoring with a three to make it a 14-point deficit at the break.
- The Colonels scored the first four points of the second half as Baughman nailed another three and
Chez Moore hit a free throw, but that was as close as it got for Centre as Guilford caught fire from long distance, nailing seven threes and never looking back.

Cade Stinnett led the Colonels with 14 points.
- Centre shot 27 percent for the game and 24 percent from three-point range. After a poor shooting first half, the Quakers shot 53 percent from the field and 54 percent from beyond the arc in the second half.
NEXT UP
Centre will resume conference play next week to start 2023 with a pair of home games, beginning with a clash with the Rhodes Lynx on Jan. 6. The home teams held serve in both matchups last season.
