COLUMBUS, Ohio – In the third game of four in Centre College women's lacrosse's (1-2) start to the season, the Gold and White visited the state of Ohio once again, this time taking on the Caps on Wednesday night. The Colonels were overpowered by Capital's game plan, falling on a final score of 21-9.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Lily Gahm recorded the first goal of the game, the second time she's done so this season for the Colonels. Gahm ended the contest with four goals overall.
- The Gold and White were able to take the lead with six and a half minutes left in the first quarter as Centre scored back-to-back goals from
Haley Rice and Gahm.
- After the Colonels back-to-back scores, the Caps were able to rattle off streaks of four-straight goals in four different instances against Centre.
- The Colonels were able to close out the contest on a high note, scoring the final two goals in the game off both a down and an up situation. The down goal was tallied by Gahm, the up score knocked in by
Ella Treinen.

- Wednesday's statistics marks the second time this season that Gahm has totaled four goals and at least one assist in a single contest. The 2021 SAA Newcomer of the Year is averaging 3.67 goals and 2.33 assists per game so far this season.
- The Caps put up 48 shots against the Colonels, the most they've given up in a single game since March 23, 2019 against Oglethorpe (53 shots).
- The Colonels scooped up a season high in ground balls on Wednesday, picking up 19 against Capital.
McKenna Hulette led Centre with seven ground balls, a career-high for the senior.
- Centre forced Capital to commit 23 turnovers in the contest, the most an opponent has totaled in a single game against the Colonels.

The Colonels will compete in their final road contest of their beginning-of-the-season stretch before competing back home in Danville. Centre will kick off that game on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 3 p.m.
