BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Centre men's basketball fell by an 81-67 score Friday at Birmingham-Southern, competing inside Bill Battle Coliseum.
The Colonels move to 10-9 overall and 4-5 in the Southern Athletic Association, while the host Panthers improve to 9-11 and 4-5 in-conference.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Panthers built an early lead and maintained it throughout much of the first half, leading by as many as 11 points at 33-22 with seven minutes on the clock.
- Centre rallied back with a quick 10-0 run – including 3-pointer from
Carter Baughman and
Jalen Williams.

Dustin Gerald helped the Colonels completely wipe away the deficit, scoring 18 first half points as the visitors grabbed a slim 43-41 lead at the break.
- Gerald knocked down a 3-pointer early in the second half, but a cold spell from Centre allowed BSC to regain an 11-point advantage just past the midway mark at 66-55.
- Another late rally was not in the cards for the Colonels, who shot 36% from the field during the second half after a 58% effort in the first. Centre also went just 6 of 14 at the free throw line in the final period.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Gerald's 23 points led all scorers, as the senior was an efficient 11-for-16 overall. He also led the team with seven rebounds.

- The Panthers out-rebounded the Colonels 49-31, including 21 offensive boards that resulted in 19 second chance points.
- BSC hit 12 3-pointers to Centre's six.
