DANVILLE, Ky. – Coming off of a tough string of games the last couple weeks, the Centre women's lacrosse team (2-4) hosted the Oberlin Yeos for a cold contest on Sunday. The back-and-forth match came down the very end and even needed extra time, the Colonels winning the sudden-death match against Oberlin for a final score of 18-17.

Haley Rice was able to get the Gold and White an early lead in the contest, knocking in the first goal of the game with eight and a half minutes remaining in the first period.
- Oberlin was able to make a quick run of their own in a span of 68 seconds, scoring three goals consecutively to take a two-goal lead.
- After going back-and-forth, the Centre was able to close the three-goal lead to one after senior
McKenna Hulette put in back-to-back scores in the net.
- The next 15 or so minutes were as tight as can be, the first eight goals of the second half changed the lead or tied the game five times.
- In four minutes of action starting at 4:20 left on the clock in the fourth period, the Colonels outscored Oberlin 3-1 to take the lead with 43 seconds remaining. Hulette's game-leading goal was the first lead Centre had since the first score of the contest.
- The Yeos were able to sneak in a goal with only 15 seconds remaining in regulation, tying the game and forcing overtime.
- After limiting Oberlin's offense to an
Addie Lewis caused turnover, the Gold and White were able to line up a free position attempt with one minute remaining of overtime.
- In a moment of redemption, sophomore
Ella Treinen scored her second free position goal of the season to put another win on Centre's record for the season.
