DEMOREST, Ga. – Centre men's lacrosse continued its spring break trip Monday, taking down Piedmont, 12-10, at the Walker Athletic Complex.
The Colonels (4-3) have won all seven meetings against the Lions (3-6), including four on Piedmont's home field.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Much like they in Saturday's win at Berry, the Colonels began the game with a goal barely 90 seconds into the match as
Duncan MacDonald scored his second of the season off a feed from
Ridr Knowlton.
Will Hubbs scored minutes later to give the Colonels a 2-0 advantage.
- The Lions were able to hit the back of the net with just over five minutes left in the quarter, but Centre answered 30 seconds later with a
Max Speers tally following
Dylan Croft's faceoff win.
Christian Underhill scored his first of the season near the end of the first period to make it 4-2.
- Hubbs opened the second quarter with a goal, and MacDonald likewise delivered his second score of the game immediately following a Piedmont goal near the 10-minute mark.
- Knowlton gave the Colonels a 7-3 lead before the break, and
Sammy Zickel recorded a pair of saves down the stretch to preserve the halftime advantage.

David Caldwell and
Will Hubbs scored in quick succession early in the third. Caldwell and
Mick Ginnity went back-to-back later in the period to give Centre its biggest lead of the game at 11-4.
- Piedmont made a late push by scoring six of the last seven, but the Colonels held on and got a fourth-quarter goal from
Noah Malubay as insurance.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Centre took 42 shots to Piedmont's 33, holding a 26-21 edge in shots on goal.
- The Colonels were a near-perfect 18 of 19 on clear attempts, and also finished with a 32-26 edge in total ground balls. Croft led Centre with five ground balls, followed by four from Caldwell.
- Hubbs totaled three or more goals for the fifth time this season.
- Zickel totaled 11 saves in goal for the Colonels.
