Hulette’s six goals not enough against Linfield

DANVILLE, Ky. – Riding a three-game win streak as they've moved into the Centre spring break season, the Colonels women's lacrosse team (4-5) took on the Linfield Wildcats on South Turf Field on Monday afternoon. A back-and-forth game that eventually fell in the Wildcats' favor, the Gold and White lost on a final score of 15-14.
 
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels were able to strike first, Madeleine Longmeyer notching the first mark in the contest after a great look from Haley Rice.
- After the Wildcats tied it up, Centre was able to score back-to-back goals from Rice and Lily Gahm to secure a two-goal lead with 6:18 left in the first period.
- Linfield tied the game of a run of their own, but the Colonels opened would open the second period with three-straight goals, Emma Botts knocking one of them into the goal on a man-up situation.
- After the Wildcats tied the game at halftime, McKenna Hulette opened up the third period with her third goal of the day to earn a hat trick.
- Trailing by two scores, the Colonels would score three in a row to open the fourth period, Hulette scoring a goal and earning an assist.
- Linfield would nail two goals in a span of nine seconds in order to claim the lead and secure it for the rest of the game. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Hulette's nine points (six goals, three assists), marks a career-high mark for the 2021 All-SAA First Team member.
- The Colonels earned a season-high in assists on Monday, 11 of their 14 goals were credited with a great look set up by a teammate.
- Centre's defense marked the second time this season the Gold and White allowed 10 or less successful clears so far this season. 

UP NEXT
The Colonels will continue their spring break vacation on the road, next competing at Piedmont in Demorest, Ga. The first draw control will kick off at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 24.
