ATLANTA – Coming off of a double-digit win on Thursday, the Centre women's lacrosse team (6-5, 2-1 SAA) stayed away from Kentucky for another contest on Saturday morning, this time against Oglethorpe. The Colonels kept the offensive momentum from last game rolling, totaling a season-high 22 goals opposed to the Stormy Petrels' 11 in the win.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Gold and White were tenacious on both sides of the field, rattling off six unanswered scores to claim a 6-0 lead after the first period.
McKenna Hulette led the squad with a pair of her own goals during the stretch, one being from the free position.
- Oglethorpe was able to be the first to strike in the second period, but would soon be outscored 8-4 in the second period alone. Seven different student=-athletes for the Colonels would score during the stretch,
Emma Botts claiming two of her own.
- Sophomore
Lily Gahm turned as the biggest offensive threat in the third period, scoring points in four of the five Centre goals in the third segement of action (one goal, three assists).
- Gahm would help the Colonels close out the Stormy Petrels for their fourth win in five games with a pair of goals in the final period of action.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Colonels felt déjà vu scoring a season-high against the Petrels, their top mark in 2021 was against Oglethorpe in the SAA Tournament semifinal (23 goals).
- Gahm's 10 points marks a career-high for the 2021 SAA Newcomer of the Year, her second-straight contest of having nine points or more in regulation.

Ella Treinen's 10 draw controls against the Stormy Petrels doubles her previous season-high of five, the first time a student-athlete on the roster has completed the feat this season.
- The Colonels' defense didn't allow the Stormy Petrels to move the ball much, only allowing two assisted goals and forcing 24 turnovers.
- The Gold and White's 19 draw controls mark the fourth time this season that Centre has kicked off their offense 19 or more times in a single game.

After playing the fourth game within the last week, the Colonels will have time to rest before they host the reigning SAA champion, Rhodes, on Saturday, April 2. That SAA matchup will take place on South Turf Field with the first draw control happening at 11 a.m.
