Hulette scores 100th career goal against Berry

DANVILLE, Ky. – After a tough series of games in Ohio, the Centre women's lacrosse team (1-4, 0-1 SAA) finally made their way back to South Turf Field for the first contest of the season on Friday night. Although senior McKenna Hulette slammed her 100th goal as a Colonel against the Berry Vikings (5-1, 1-0 SAA), the Vikings bested the Gold and White with an 11-10 final score.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels were able to get their offense rolling right out of the gate, slamming the first three goals of the contest in less than four minutes of action. Two of those three were assisted, Hullete's second goal from Madeleine Longmeyer and Haley Rice's first goal on a pass from Lily Gahm.
- Hullete's 100th score came from Rice after a Berry foul was committed on the team's drive.
- The Vikings' push came in the third quarter, shrinking the three-goal lead to a tie game in the third quarter.
- After Berry was able to take the lead in fourth quarter, the Colonels were able to rattle off two straight goals with five minutes left, one by Ella Treinen and the other a put-back score from Rice.- The Vikings were able to close out the game by score back-to-back goals in the final minute to take the lead and claim the win over Centre.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Gahm's six ground balls and five caused turnovers were a season-high for the sophomore attacker, the later being a career-high.
- The Colonels were able to hit a season-high on draw controls, winning 15 out of the 25 to give themselves offensive opportunities.
- Centre tied their highest mark this season on shot on goal percentage at 83.3-percent, 20 of their 24 shots on the mark.
- The Gold and White tallied their third man-up goal on Friday night, coming from an unassisted score of Gahm in the first quarter of action.

UP NEXT
The Colonels will have a week to brainstorm their plan for the next game, taking on Oberlin in Danville, Ky. on Saturday, March 12. That home game will have the first draw control kick off at 1 p.m.
