Centre softball swept in SAA doubleheader at Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss. – Centre softball fell by scores of 10-0 and 8-0 Saturday on the road at Millsaps.

The Colonels drop to 4-9 overall and 0-5 in the Southern Athletic Association while the Majors move to 6-8 and 2-0 in-conference.

GAME ONE: Millsaps 10, Centre 0 (5 innings)
- The Majors took advantage of a handful of walks to plate eight in the second inning – all on just three hits.
- Millsaps added two more in the third on a triple and sacrifice fly.
- Down to Centre's final at-bat in the top of the fifth, Kaylee Gregory led off with a double to right center. Brylin Isaacs then hit a one-out single to put two runners in scoring position, but Millsaps starter Cassidy Thrash got the final two outs to signal the run-rule victory.
- Andrea Searcy, Branan Cobb and Mia Tomillo each spent time pitching for the Colonels.

GAME TWO: Millsaps 8, Centre 0 (6 innings)
- Millsaps began the second game with a pair of runs in the first, recording three hits before Lucy Baseheart retired three in a row to limit the damage.
- Centre had runners in scoring position in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings, but couldn't punch a run across, leaving seven total runners stranded.
- The Majors scored one in both the third and fourth, capitalizing on a wild pitch and error, and had the bases loaded in the fifth until Baseheart struck out two in a row to end the threat.
- In the sixth, Millsaps plated four on three hits to finish with its second straight run-run win.
