DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre softball fell by scores of 5-1 and 9-7 Tuesday to visiting Hanover.
The Colonels slide to 4-12 overall while the Panthers move to 4-4.
GAME ONE: Hanover 5, Centre 1
- Hanover tallied RBI base hits in each of the first three innings to take an early lead.
- The Colonels got one back in the third, as
Kaylen Storms singled to bring home
Alana Fullen and make it 3-1.
- Both teams stranded multiple runners across the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
- Katherine Dickinson provided a big two-out, two-RBI double for Hanover in the seventh to widen the lead.

Brylin Isaacs got on base in the bottom of the inning, but Centre wasn't able to threaten the Panthers' advantage.
- Storms had two of Centre's five hits.
Lucy Baseheart struck out six batters in the ring for the Colonels.
GAME TWO: Hanover 9, Centre 7
- The Panthers put pressure on the Colonels right away with a four-run first in the second game.
- Centre had a quick answer, however, plating five runs to gain its first lead of the evening.
Sawyer Lecius,
Kaylen Storms and
Abby Duncan each got on to load the bases with no outs, and
Andrea Searcy drew a walk to bring the first run home.
Kaylee Gregory drove two in with a single to right, and
Hailey Watson brought in two more on a double that made it 5-4.
- Searcy led off the third with a double to center and later scored on a bases-loaded walk from Fullen. Lecius tacked on a run with a RBI single to right to score Gregory and increase the Colonels' lead to 7-4.
- Hanover began the top of the fourth with three straight doubles, and later got a homerun from Carson Kruse as part of a big five-run frame that gave the visitors a 9-7 lead.
- Centre was unable to climb back into the game as Hanover relief pitcher Lauren Beaman closed the door.
- Lecius and Searcy finished with two hits apiece for the Colonels.
