DANVILLE, Ky. – In the final week of the regular season before the Southern Athletic Association Tournament, the Centre women's lacrosse team (8-7, 2-3 SAA) called a last-second audible & hosted Asbury for a contest on South Campus Field. The Colonels found their offense and unloaded on the Eagles on Wednesday night, earning the win on a final score of 15-3.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Gold and White opened the contest with 12-straight goals in the first 25 minutes of action, assisting on seven of those scores during the timespan.
- During the run, senior
McKenna Hulette led all scorers with four goals, one of them being unassisted off a free position attempt. Sophomore
Lily Gahm would also have four points in the first 25 minutes coming off a pair of goals and a pair of assists in the contest.
- The Eagles would get on the board with a little over two minutes left in the first half, their only score of the first segment of action.
-
Grace Aug ended the first half of action with a goal of her own, the play assisted by
Mary Margaret Bryant being Aug's first score of the season.
- The second half would be much more methodical for Centre's gameplan, the two teams each exchanging an even two goals to close the game.
- Both of the Colonels' scores in the second half would come from openings led by teammates,
Isa Stumpf finding the clean looks for both Hulette and Gahm for the final scores of the contest.
- After the third period, the Gold and White's 13-goal lead would be plenty enough to go scoreless in the final period and claim the win.
