DANVILLE, Ky. – Coming off a winning series against Rhodes last week, the Centre softball team (9-27, 3-13 SAA) kicked off their final series of the regular season on Friday night, taking on the University of the South Tigers. The bats ran hot for the Gold and White, the Colonels shutting out Sewanee for a series-leading win on a final score of 6-0.

Maddison Ellis claimed the first two RBI's for Centre, coming off an inside-the-park home run with her off the right-center wall. Ellis' homer is the first of her career, the dinger not involving a single error on the play in the game's first inning.
- The Colonels had a stalemate for four innings with Sewanee,
Sawyer Lecius breaking the silence by driving in
Alana Fullen with a single up the middle of the field in the fifth inning.

Riley McCue hit a triple in the same inning as Fullen, this ball hit to right field to bring home Lecius.
- The very next batter,
Andrea Searcy got in on some action by tossing a ball to the same spot in right, grabbing an extra base hit for a double and an RBI.

Kaylee Gregory would be the final Colonel to bring a baserunner across home plate, slotting a well-placed hit to right-center field to push a 6-0 lead after the fifth inning.

Branan Cobb would come to pitch the final inning for Centre, striking out the first two batters swinging before she got the final batter to ground out to McCue to end the contest.

Lucy Baseheart would collect her fourth win of the season off another great start, the sophomore's six-innings pitched would be her second game this season not giving up a run.
- Gregory and Lecius' two-hit performance marks the fourth and 10th time, respectively, that they've had multi-hit games this season.
- Friday's win marks the third time this season the Colonels have had multiple triples in the same game, their second within the last week.
- The Gold and White wouldn't go down swinging, their bats on Friday night marked the second time this season that not a single Colonel would strike out at the plate in the game.
