Men’s soccer stalled against Tornadoes

DANVILLE, Ky. – After a long weekend Bob Allen Nissan Classic games last week, the Centre men's soccer team (0-4-1) stepped up on Saturday afternoon for their first contest of the weekend. The Colonels took on Brevard (2-3-1) in the contest, falling on a final score of 1-0.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Tornadoes were the early aggressors in the contest, Jacob Camacho saving a Brevard shot from the bottom-center side of the net within the game's first minute.
- Luke Morgan would get a shot of his own to the bottom right side of Brevard's goal, the shot being saved by the goalkeeper.
- Sota Ippongi would produce the second-half's first shot, but Brevard would break the tie in the game's 76th minute.
- The Gold and White would put up a valiant effort in the final minutes of the contest, putting up two shots in the final five minutes of play and two corner kicks in the final 120 seconds of action.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Colonels were able to limit Brevard's opportunities at the net, allowing the lowest number of shots, shots on goal and corner kicks in a single game so far this season.
- Both teams were even on offense in opportunities at the goal, each team putting up four shots in each half with two shots-on-goal each during the course of the game.
- Ippongi's three shots on the Brevard defense marks the highest total the junior has put up in a single game so far this season.
