Streak pushed to six for women’s soccer

JACKSON, Miss. - Centre women's soccer overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Millsaps 3-1 and remain perfect in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).

The Colonels moved to 11-1-4 overall and 6-0 in the SAA with the win. Sunday marked the sixth-straight victory for the team.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre came out firing in the first half and had a 9-3 lead in shots and a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal. That offense did not lead to a score as Millsaps notched the only goal of the half and led 1-0 going into the break.
- Alexis Kronenthal led the Gold & White in shots on target in half one with two while Lauren Monday and Bella Nelson tallied one each.
- In the 51st minute the Colonels knotted things up. Alexis Kronenthal passed the ball from outside of the left side of the penalty area to Megan Sidaway who scored on a header.
- Kronenthal got a goal of her own in the 72nd minute. The sophomore took advantage of the Majors' keeper coming out of the goal to attempt to make a play. Kronenthal sent the ball into an empty net for the score.
- The second half saw yet another Centre goal. Lydia Bowling tapped the ball to Annabel Justice who found the back of the net from 10 yards out in the 78th minute.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Colonels offensive onslaught continues to impress. The visiting team held a 29-6 advantage in shots and a 12-2 lead in shots on goal. Those 29 shots is the second most for the team this season.
- Alexis Kronenthal led the match in shots with a career-high five. Her goal and assist were her fourth of the season of each stat. It was also her second-straight game with a goal and assist.
- A total of 12 members of the Gold & White team took at least one shot while seven had attempts on frame.
- Grace Dutcher was the keeper for Centre all 90 minutes and made one save.
