DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre men's soccer had a great Senior Day as the Colonels blanked Southern Athletic Association (SAA) foe Sewanee in head coach Jeb Burch's 250th win.
The Gold & White clinched the No. 3 seed in the upcoming SAA Tournament with the win. Centre's record sits at 7-6-3 overall and 3-1-3 in the SAA at the conclusion of the regular season.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels tallied seven shots in the first half, with three on goal, to the Tigers' three. Sewanee was held back by the Gold & White defense and got no shots on frame off in the first half.

John Palomino broke the match's scoring seal in the second frame. In the 73rd minute, a Colonel corner kick landed inside the goal area and was originally deflected by the visitor's keeper. Palomino found the ball with his foot and sent it into the back of the net.
- The next Centre goal was a Senior Day special. Senior
Sam Brunner scored his first goal as a Colonel after he played an errant Tiger ball perfectly into the left side of the goal in the 85th minute.
- The Gold & White stood strong the final five minutes and left Amend Field with a 2-0 shutout win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Saturday was the sixth shutout for the Colonels this season.

Jacob Camacho was perfect in his 90 minutes in goal. The senior stopped all three shots that came his way.
- Centre held an advantage in shots 16-7 and shots on goal 9-3. The Colonels also had seven corner kicks to Sewanee's three.

John Palomino led all participants with a total of four shots. He tallied two shots on frame which was also accomplished by
Sam Brunner and
Drew Davidson in the contest.
- A total of nine Centre squad members took at least one shot in the weekend match.
UP NEXT
Centre will be the site of the Colonel's first round SAA Tournament matchup. As the no. 3 seed, the Gold & White will host the no. 6 seed on Saturday, Oct. 28 at a time to be determined. At the time of publication, Berry, Birmingham-Southern, and Hendrix are in the running for the sixth seed.
