DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre football team improved to .500 on the year and 4-3 in conference as they won their third game in a row with a convincing 54-22 win over the Sewanee Tigers at
Andy Frye Stadium.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The visiting Tigers took the opening kickoff and had their best drive of the day to start as they marched 75 yards to get into the end zone for an early 7-0 lead.
- On Centre's first drive, a long kick return by
Christian Billiter set up the Colonels in plus territory.
Jack Gohmann converted all three of his third downs, ending the drive with a seven-yard strike to
Scotty Brown to tie the score.
- A fumbled handoff deep in Sewanee territory bounced into the welcoming hands of
Evan Elder, who ran the ball back to the Sewanee 2 and helped set up another short toss from Gohmann to Brown to give Centre the lead.
- The Colonels managed field goals from
Cam Tegge on both of their second quarter drives as they controlled possession and stretched their lead to 20-7 at the half.

Keaton Martin accounted for 50 yards on the ground on Centre's first possession of the third quarter, which culminated with a goal line plunge from
Gabe Walker to increase the lead to 26-7.
- Later in the period, Walker struck again with a 40-yard burst and another score, marking his longest run of the year and giving the Colonels a 33-7 advantage.
- Shortly before the end of the third quarter, Gohmann took advantage of a defensive breakdown and found a wide open
Blake Busson streaking down the sideline for a 40-yard score.
- Following a Sewanee score, the Colonels got on the board once again in the fourth quarter as
Nick Osterman connected with
Chase Eary on a deep ball for a 26-yard touchdown and a 47-14 Centre lead.
- The final touchdown of the day came as freshman
Porter LeDoyen fought his way into the end zone on a quarterback keeper.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Centre outgained Sewanee 457-249 on the day, including an overwhelming 239-79 advantage on the ground.
- The Centre offensive line held the vaunted Sewanee pass rush to just one sack on the day after they had been averaging over four per game going into today's game.
- Centre's defense recorded a season high six sacks.
Dallas Douglas had a career day with 3.5 sacks to go along with nine tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss.

Duerell Bard finished with a game high 12 tackles along with three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
- Eary and LeDoyen found the end zone for the first time in their collegiate careers with their fourth quarter touchdowns.
