DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre men's soccer opened their fall break tour on Friday, hosting their first of two Southern Athletic Association (SAA) contests. Owning the game's singular goal, the Colonels fended off their conference foe with a final score of Centre one, Hendrix zero.
After Friday night's win, the Gold & White moves to 1-1-1 in the league and 5-6-1 overall.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre's offense put together the game's initial goal. Sota Ippongi and Drew Davidson teamed up to repurpose a Hendrix save back to goal. Redirecting the ball back to cage, Ippongi set in a beautifully placed header to give Centre the lead entering halftime.
- Out of the break, the Warriors amped up their offensive possessions, matching the Colonels in shots taken with five. In goal, Jacob Camacho denied all three of Hendrix's shots on frame, rendering the Warriors scoreless.
- Although facing a more defensive half, the Gold & White continued to control offensively. Finding several corner opportunities, the Colonels outshot their opponents 5-3, but by end of regulation, the score closed at Centre one, Hendrix zero.

- Having the advantage in corner kicks, Centre found six opportunities while the Warriors had zero.
- In goal, Camacho collected three saves, all of which were in the second half.
