Gracie Garner in the next possession, nearly cutting the score deficit in half. Capital answered with four successive goals to put them eight points ahead.
Colleen Stahl, Rice, and Gahm concluded the half's scoring with a 3-0 run to put the Colonels within five.
- Out of half, the Colonels again opened the quarter, Rice netted her fourth goal off a man-up opportunity.
Ella Treinen followed with a goal, shrinking the score gap to 3. The Comets went on to rattle off seven additional goals, the Colonels, placing one more by quarter's end.
- The game's final period proved to be a back and forth affair. Centre put up the first goal, taking the game out of the running clock but Capital quickly responded with their own goal to advance them ten points ahead. For the remainder of the game, the two teams traded goals.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Rice led the Colonels with five goals, a season high. She added one assist and a ground ball. Treinen was the second most scorer for the Colonels with two.
- Centre favored in caused turnovers, collecting 17 to the opposing's 11.

Gracey Falk tallied a career high ten saves, leading the Colonels to 15 of 21 successful clears.
