DANVILLE, Ky. – After earning two wins on Saturday against the Rhodes Lynx in their double header, the Centre softball team (5-6, 3-0 SAA) took on the Lynx for one more round on Sunday, Feb. 26. The Colonels' bats erupted for a second day in a row, putting a run-rule on their Southern Athletic Association (SAA) 8-0 after five innings, all their runs coming in the game's first inning.

Tori Candler started her big performance with a double into left field in the game's first inning, sending home both
Abby Duncan and
Izzy Rushing for a quick lead.
- After
Emily Lammers put a double in left field,
Andrea Searcy would drive a base hit up through second base to drive in both Lammers and Candler.
- Rushing would come back through the order to walk on a good at-bat to bring
Sam Rogers home, Duncan then singling out through the left side and extending the lead to six.
- The Colonels would score another run off of a walk from Candler, and their final run of the game would come through a passed ball to total eight overall after the first inning.

Lucy Baseheart would garner her third win of the season off her three-inning, two-hit performance on the mound, Searcy replacing her on the mound in the fourth inning to finish the game and strike out two batters.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Searcy's RBI's for the current season have reached double-digits, the junior only two away from tying her season-high mark of 13 in a single season.
- Baseheart's win on Sunday marked the tenth win of her career for the Colonels.
- Sunday's win marks the first time the Colonels have swept an SAA opponent in the season series since 2019.
