OBERLIN, Ohio. – On Saturday morning, Centre women's lacrosse hit the road to face non-conference opponent, Oberlin College. After a hasty start, the Colonels ultimately suffered a loss, moving to 3-3 on the season. 
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre's 
Haley Rice opened the game's scoring just 12 seconds into the competition. In response, Oberlin took an early lead with a 3-0 scoring run. Answering, 
Addie Lewis and 
Ella Treinen evened the game after rattling off two successive goals for the Colonels. Oberlin's offense ignited midway through the quarter, taking control with four unanswered goals. In the final minute, Centre was awarded a man-up possession that Rice took full advantage of. With ten seconds remaining, the sophomore fired one in that would bring the Colonels within three entering the second quarter.
- Oberlin's offensive runs continued as they opened the quarter with four consecutive goals. Centre notched their singular goal of the period when Rice connected with 
Lily Gahm off a transition. By the end of the period, Oberlin had extended their lead to ten, taking the game into running clock.  
- Oberlin hastily commenced the second half's scoring. The Colonels would find two goals in the third quarter, both of which were from rookies. 
Erin Reynolds placed the first goal with the helper from 
Isa Stumpf. Minutes later, 
Olivia Sweasy marked Centre's eighth goal, unassisted.
- In the game's final period, the Colonels held Oberlin to just one goal, simultaneously scoring three themselves. First-year 
Carter David collected her first collegiate goal just moments into the quarter. 
Grace Aug and Reynolds would put together the Colonel's final two goals, freezing the score at Oberlin 21, Centre, 11. 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Colonels had a three-way tie for their top scorer spot as Treinen, Rice, and Renyolds collected two goals apiece. Sweasy, Gahm, Lewis, David, and Aug each put a singular goal in.
- Rice was the game's leader in assists with four. Her two made goals, paired with her assists, put her in a tie for the game's leader in points, with six. 
- Oberlin had the advantage in shots taken, attempting 34 compared to Centre's 24.
- On the arc, the Colonels completed five free-position opportunities, Oberlin finishing seven.
- The Gold & White possessed the most groundballs, having 23 opposed to Oberlin's 18.

The Centre women's lacrosse team will head home to host two games in the upcoming week. They will first go up against Carthage on Wednesday, Mar. 15, before turning around to host Hendrix on Saturday, Mar. 18.
