DANVILLE, Ky. – Coming off a hot Saturday performance where the Centre softball team (12-7, 9-0 SAA) won both games in their double-header against the Millsaps Majors, the two programs faced off in their series finale on Sunday afternoon. The Colonels ran hot early and pushed their momentum past the mercy rule, cutting the game short to five innings on an 8-0 win.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Gold & White once again kicked the game's first inning off with a slew of runs,
Rylie Bentley marking the first score for the Colonels on an RBI-double to left field that brought
Izzy Rushing home.

Tori Candler would repeat a slap in the very next at-bat, working the Majors' left fielder on a double to drive in Bentley and extend the lead to two.
Emily Lammers would later have an RBI of her own, bringing in Candler after an error by the shortstop.

Cheney Floyd ran her first triple of her Centre career in the game's second inning, clearing the baserunners and bringing home Watson for the fourth run of the game.
Sawyer Lecius would soon-after put out a sacrifice bunt to drive home Floyd.
- The freshman would drive another RBI across the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning, sending a single to right field and push the lead to six.
- The Colonels would force the run-rule later in the fourth inning, Candler sending a pitch back up the middle of the field to send Rushing across the plate.
Emily Lammers would push the game's final run after reaching first base on a Millsaps bobble, sending Rushing home.

- Sunday marks the third time this season the Colonels have walked away on a five-inning win.
- The Gold & White's nine conference wins marks the best start to the season in conference play since the 2006 season, dating back to Centre's time in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
- The Colonels now hold four batters hitting above .400 on the season, three being first-year student-athletes that meet the two PA/G and 75-percent of games played requirements.
