DANVILLE, Ky. – After playing a pair of games on Saturday against the no. 5 Berry Vikings, the Centre softball team (12-10, 9-3 SAA) took the field one more time on Sunday for the final game of the series. The Colonels wouldn't walk away with a win in the 15-1 loss but showed plenty of improvements from last season across the three-game set.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Vikings put on the pressure early in the first inning, driving in seven runs to take an early lead.
- The Gold & White couldn't stop the offensive pressure from Berry, amounting a 15-0 lead after the bottom of the fourth inning.
- The Colonels were able to make quick work of the top of the fifth inning defensively,
Kaylee Gregory keeping the Vikings away from rounding home by forcing a fly out and a grounder to end the half inning.
- Centre did produce a run in the game's final half inning,
Sunnie Woske sending a sacrifice bunt perfectly to drive in
Hailey Watson for a run.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Colonels totaled six runs in the three games against the fifth-ranked team in Division III, an improvement from last season where they only tallied two among the three games.
- After sending a single in the bottom of the first inning, freshman
Tori Candler extends her hit streak to 13-consecutive games.
- Woske's RBI on Sunday draws her second-career notch in the statistical category, both scores coming in the month of March this year.

The Gold & White will take a seven-game stint on the road after Sunday's contests, competing in a pair of non-conference games and one Southern Athletic Association (SAA) series against Sewanee. The first opponent up for the Colonels will be Denison, that Friday, March 24 double-header in Newark, Ohio kicking off at 3 p.m. ET.
