CONWAY, Ark. – After totaling eight runs in both games of the double-header against the Hendrix Warriors on Saturday, the Centre softball team (8-6, 6-0 SAA) took on their southern foe for the last time in the season series on Sunday. The Colonels were able to put together their second-straight season sweep of a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) opponent, putting away the final game on a 7-4 win.

Izzy Rushing led off the game with her first career triple, later being brought home by
Tori Candler to kick off an early lead in the game.

Andrea Searcy would later drive in two more insurance runs in the game's first inning, sending a blooper over the shortstop's head for a three-run lead after bringing in
Emily Lammers and Candler.
- After Hendrix posted a lone run, the Gold & White responded with a bolster to their score in the top of the fourth inning. Freshman
Layne Ogle was able to send a swing to the shortstop, driving in Searcy from third base.
- The Warriors would close the gap in the bottom of the fourth, scoring two the cut Centre's lead to one.
- Searcy would strike again for another Centre run, driving in the runner on third with her double to put the Colonels' score to five.
Sam Rogers would catch another run soon-after, posting a sacrifice fly out in right field to bring in Gold & White's third-base runner to extend the lead to three.
- Rushing continued a dominate performance with another multi-base at bat in the top of the sixth inning, sending a solo home run to right-center field and extend the lead to four runs to cap the series.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Rushing's long ball marks her third home run of the season, leading the team while batting .500 after the weekend sweep.
- Searcy's three RBI's in the Sunday contest tallies her sixth game in a row she's recorded at least one RBI in a contest, now eight of her last 11 games appeared in.
- The Colonels recorded five extra-base hits in the contest; Candler, Lammers and Searcy with a doubles each while Rushing batted both a triple and the homer.
- Sunday's win marks the first time Centre has earned back-to-back conference sweeps since the 2019 season where they blanked both Sewanee and Millsaps.
