ATLANTA- On Saturday afternoon, the Centre men's soccer took a trip to Atlanta for their Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Conference opening game. After the Stormy Petrels set in a pair of late goals, the Colonels fell by a score of 0-2, moving to 0-1 in the league.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels opened the games action, taking the first shot on goal ten minutes in. Midway through the half, the Stormy Petrels began to gain momentum, more than tripling Centre (2) in shots taken with nine. In goal,
Brendan Egan stifled every Oglethorpe shot taken, halting the score at 0-0 entering the break.
- Out of half, the two teams traded shots taken until the Petrels netted the first goal of the game 15 minutes in. Before Centre found a chance to answer, Oglethorpe doubled the score deficit with their second goal less than ten minutes later. As regulation came to an end, neither team would tally another goal, solidifying the score at Oglethorpe two, Centre zero.

Sota Ippongi was just behind them, taking two attempts.
- Egan led the game in saves, denying 12 while the Petrels refused five.
- Oglethorpe led the field in corner kicks with nine. Centre took five corner kicks.
