DANVILLE, Ky.- On Tuesday afternoon, the Centre women's soccer team returned to Amend field after a two game road series in Georgia. Hosting Bob Jones for a mid-week match-up, a pair of opposing second half goals ultimately resulted in a draw between the two teams. Ending with a tie, the Colonels move to a 5-1-4 overall record.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
-The game's opening half proved to be an even match between the two teams, Centre managing nearly double the Bruins' shots yet the score showed a tie at zeros entering the next half.
- Out of the break, both teams recommenced their first half's intensity, neither squad recording a goal until the game's 75th minute. The Colonels were the first to strike, recording a goal during a free kick opportunity. Taking the kick, Alexis Kronenthal perfectly placed a long ball that allowed a beautifully placed header goal from Megan Sidaway. With less than two minutes remaining in regulation, the Bruins eventually evened the feild with a late goal, bringing the final score to a draw at even ones.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Centre more than tripled their opponents in shots takes with 38; Bob Jones took 10 shots. Bella Nelson and Maggie Corbett led the Colonels in shots taken, each attempting six. Sidaway tied for the game's leading scorer while Kronethal led the field in assists (1).
- In goal, Anna Thomas and Grace Dutcher split time. Combined, the two collected five saves.
- The Gold & White were awarded four corner kicks, the Bruins had one.
