MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The top team in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) was downed by Centre men's soccer on Sunday. The Colonels defeated Rhodes 2-1 on the road.
The Gold & White sit at 11-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the SAA after the result. The Lynx dropped to 9-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Ryan O'Hara struck in the 18th minute. The freshman got into a tangle with a defender but was able to maintain possession. He took a shot to the right of the penalty arc that found home in the right side of the net.
- Just over three minutes later, the Colonels struck again.
Alec McAlister sent a free kick from the left side of the field into the box and
Finnegan Deem-Ranzetta used his head to score a Centre goal.
- Rhodes got a score on the board in the 35th minute, but it was not enough in the 2-1 win for the Gold & White.

Alec McAlister's assist was his seventh of the season. He currently leads the Colonel team in assists. He is tied for first in assists in SAA contests.
- Centre converted the squad's two goals on just four shots on goal.

Grayson Parish had a career-high eight saves in his 90 minutes as the goalkeeper for the Colonels. Those eight saves are the second most for the Gold & White in a match this season.
- With the win Centre secured the team's first 10-win season since 2021.
LOOKING AHEAD
- The SAA standings are tight with each member school having just one regular season contest remaining. The Colonels are in third and tied with Berry in the standings at 2-1-2. Oglethorpe moved into first at 3-1-1 followed by Rhodes at 3-2 after Sunday's results. If the squads remain tied at the end of the regular season the SAA tiebreaker process, listed
here, will come into play.
